OzProject Sea Week 2008 (25th February - 11th April 2008)

This online project provides several opportunities for students to learn about the sea by sharing their knowledge and experiences and collaborating with others. It has been created for students in the Middle Primary years but may be adapted for younger or older students.

Seaweek on Lord Howe Island (February 18-25)

February 18 to 25 Seaweek at Lord Howe Island, with this years theme: Extinction a Saw Point. To raise awareness for local children, Pete, Busty, Ian and other seaweek organisers plan special school programs including snorkel tours, reef and beach walks, and scuba trips. The museum will host childrens displays, marine slides and videos.

In addition to the school programs, Howea Divers and Islander Cruises plan a full week of activities including lectures and slideshows at the museum, outer reef and night snorkel tours, Ball''s Pyramid tours with Ian Hutton, and Introductory scuba dives.

Fish survey (March 8-9)

Fish survey dive in Terrigal Haven. Members of TUG (Terrigal Underwater Group) recently trained in fish survey techniques will commence an annual Seaweek project where fish will be surveyed along the reef. Data will be provided to Coastkeepers and the University of Newcastle.
