Seaweek event for Pennington Junior Primary School (March 9th and 10th)

Year two students from Pennington Junior Primary have been invited to participate in a two day Seaweek event at Adelaide Shores Caravan Park whilst on camp. There will be 6 stations over the two days in which organisations such as KESAB Patawalonga and Torrens Waterwatch, Department for Environment and Heritage ), Urban Forest Biodiversity Program and Project Dolphin Safe and Seabird Rescue will deliver environmental educational sessions. Some of these include marine trails, designing and building gardens using local coastal plants and wildlife, whale disentanglement shows, seabird conservation talks and marine beach yoga.

Blessing of the Fleet with Glen Jakovich (March 6 & 7)

The Department of Fisheries ambassador, former West Coast Eagle Glen Jakovich and the Volunteer Fisheries Liaison Officers (VFLOs) will be attending the Esperance Blessing of the Fleet on Monday 6th March to promote the 'fish for the future' message. They will be conducting a family fishing clinic, setting up an education display, signing cards and taking part in a boat patrol and the blessing in the Bandy Creek Boat Harbour.

On Tuesday 7th, Glen and the Esperance Fisheries Officers will be visiting two of the local primary schools (Nulsan PS and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic PS) to give a 'fish for the future' presentation.

Little Penguins and life in the Antarctic (March 30, 7.00pm - 9.00pm )

''An evening about Little Penguins and life in the Antarctic'' is a FREE event. Come and listen to speakers Perviz Marker, who was awarded the Tasmanian Government Prof Harry Bloom award for Environmental Excellence in 2005 for her work on Little Penguins along our coast and Imaginarium’s own Carrie Smith will speak about her adventures living and working in Antarctica.

Refreshments will be available by a gold coin donation. This will also be the VERY last opportunity to see the current exhibitions before the arrival of the dinosaurs!

Jervis Bay Marine Park Celebrates Seaweek (March 6 - 12)

Foreshore walks in the Huskisson Sanctuary Zone accompanied by a Marine Parks and NPWS Rangers.

Seaweek Information Day including displays of live marine life and touch tanks at Voyager Park, Huskisson Sunday March 12 from 10am to 3pm.

A puppet show by the Rock Pool Theatre Company titled The Plastic Jellyfish held at Voyager Park, Huskisson on March 12 at 11.30am
