Once
again Festival of the Sea will
conduct a huge range of environment
events and activities. These
events will introduce you to
the amazing range of coastal
habitats in Barwon Heads....
our wonderful Marine Sanctuary,
the Bluff, our beaches, estuary,
estuarine wetlands, mangroves,
woodlands, swamps and dunes.
It
will also provide an opportunity
to get up close and personal
with the stunning array of flora
and fauna that inhabit these
remarkable habitats. The Environment
festival aims to cater for a
broad range of experience and
interests. We are grateful for
the continuing sponsorship of
Friends of the Bluff, Coast
Care/CoastAction, Parks Victoria
and Barwon Coast. We provide
all activities for free and

a close look at our remarkable

This full day seminar is the 4th Connections
with the Sea we are proud to present.
This years seminar will highlight
the extraordinary estuary and wetlands
surrounding Barwon Heads. The Connewarre
Lake system is Ramsar listed and home
to a stunning variety of flora and
fauna while the Barwon estuary is
complex, dynamic and diverse. Expert
speakers will guide us through the
beauty and diversity of this wonderful
ecosystem. Bookings are essential
as numbers are limited and much sought.

Another fun night of discovery, mystery,
intrigue and probably sex as we once
again present the LAND SEA SKY slide
show. Three expert speakers will discuss
an aspect of our coast from the land,
the sea and the sky. Amazing insights
and spectacular, spectacular photography.

Bluff, this is a free forum and includes

THURSDAY
MARCH 11th SCHOOLS DAY OUT
venue: Barwon Heads time 9.00am
The schools event just keeps on getting
bigger and better. Bellarine Secondary
College staff and students organise
a huge day of enviro activities for
year 8 students that cover a broad
range of activities... marine discoveryprogram,
water watch, fishcare, wetlands activities,
woodland program and much much more.
Activities are planned to be hands
on, seductive and challenging. Over
300 staff and students will attend
this years activities and we know
the environment future is in good
hands.
This
year we are extending the schools
program to include Barwon Heads Primary
School. Students will take part in
a range of classroom activities today...
frogwatch, waterwatch and Living on
the Edge marine project. On Friday
March 12th the whole school will be
out and about Barwon Heads learning
up close about some of our wonderful
Habitats... mangroves, rock pools
and moonahs. The schools program is
a major environment initiative support
by a large number of government and
community agencies and we wish them
a great festival.

MARCH 13th SUSTAINABLE LIVING EXPO

A highlight of the street festival
the SUSTAINABLE LIVING EXPO is going
from strength to strength. This year,
with more exhibits, this expo will
definitely show you how to make a
difference around your house, garden
and community with information, demonstrations,
services and products that will encourage
the whole community to live sustainably.

services and products to be used around
the family home. Experts will be on
hand to answer all your questions
about building and garden design,
energy and resources as well as the

MARCH 14th LAND SEA SKY ENVIRO-EXPO
venue: the Foreshore, Jetty Rd.time

The foreshore come alive with food,
music, entertainment, racing ducks
and the LAND SEA SKY EXPO. A host
of local environment groups and management
agencies will display their activities,
discuss the importance of caring for
our coast and show you how to become
involved and make a difference. There
are plenty of experts to answer your
questions and loads of activities
to get you up close and personal with
our wonderful coast.
