At Long Beach's Aquarium of the Pacific we met Sheree (who had flown in from Vancouver) and the volunteers who would look after us for the weekend.
Leah, Lou, Connie and Joe turned out to be delightful hosts and we spent the next two days visiting marine centres, museums and other attractions (muscle beach and Disneyland) in Los Angeles.
