What are your main work duties?

I carry out the field, laboratory and office work necessary to fulfill the goals of my project.
These include: liasing with commercial and recreational fishers, measuring and cutting up fish samples, ageing fish, and examining their reproductive cycle, analysing data and writing up reports.

What helped you to get your job?

After completing Honours, I worked as a research assistant at Deakin Uni before beginning a PhD at MAFRI. During my PhD I successfully applied for a 2 year research grant to study the population dynamics of rock and sand flathead. This grant created the position I am now employed in.
