Generalisations and the Evidence 2
- Hypothesis
- 'Given a set of conditions an event is likely to occur'.
- Null Hypothesis
- 'Given a set of conditions no event will occur'.
The null hypothesis is tested by an experiment.
If the null hypothesis is accepted by the results
of the experiment (test) then the hypothesis is rejected and the
generalisation must be wrong.
